VinFast Ships Another Batch of Vehicles to North America for Export

Automotive industry

VinFast is fulfilling its vehicle orders for the United States and Canada by sending 1,879 cars to the Port of Benicia in California. The shipment is set to arrive after 20 days at sea. Among the cars, 1,098 VF 8s will be delivered to the US West Coast port, while 781 vehicles are bound for Canada.

VinFast has shared a photo of a VF 8 being loaded onto the Silver Queen, which is currently on its way to the United States.

Once the import procedures have been completed and all necessary licenses and certificates obtained, VinFast anticipates delivering the VF 8 models to customers in the United States by May and customers in Canada by June.

In December of last year, the Silver Queen departed from Haiphong, Vietnam and made it to the United States on December 20th. However, it wasn't until March that the cars were finally handed over to the original buyers. For Canada, this marks the very first occasion where buyers will be receiving their vehicles.

Vinfast has delivered their shipment to North America as promised, ensuring that customers will receive their orders during the first quarter of the year. Despite the fact that the initial batch was released in March, orders continue to come in and the company has announced that they will be able to fulfill their target of 5,000 units.

Production is at its peak in Haiphong to satisfy additional requests from North American and European countries. Most of the automobiles that are currently being manufactured will be transported to our European clients. However, our supply to the US market will remain uninterrupted until the construction of our North Carolina establishment is finished," an official from VinFast informed CleanTechnica.

The initial shipment comprised mainly of the VF 8 City edition. However, this particular delivery only consists of the Eco and Plus models. These editions boast a higher anticipated driving distance compared to the City variant.

The VF 8 Eco has an electric motor that can generate up to 260 kilowatts of power and reach a torque of 500Nm at its highest point. Meanwhile, if you go for the Plus model, you'll get an even more powerful motor that can go up to 300 kW with a maximum torque of 620 Nm.

The VF 8 Standard comes with the company's ADAS, which has a variety of features that will be improved and updated often. Some of these features include highway assist, auto lane changing assist, fully-automated parking assistance, smart summon mode, remote parking, and many others.

The Smart Services have some cool things like a "virtual assistant" and you can control your car through the VinFast app. It also has some other helpful features like online shopping and services that you can use right from your car, like for your home or office. All of these things will make the experience of owning a VinFast car even better!

European markets are anticipating the arrival of 700 VF 8 vehicles as the first shipment is scheduled for export in the middle of July 2023.

VinFast has grown its international operations in 2022, with the launch of over 30 retail stores and service centers in several countries including the US, Canada, Germany, France, and the Netherlands. Moreover, VinFast accomplished the delivery of the inaugural batch of VF 9 SUVs, all-electric vehicles, to customers in Vietnam by March 2023. The next subcompact VF 5 Plus models are also scheduled to be delivered to customers in April 2023.

VinFast, a global company, will be accepting bookings for their VF 6 and VF 7 models in the near future. They will also be delivering reserved VF 9 vehicles to their customers as stated in their official press release.

I'm not a fan of paywalls, and I'm pretty sure you're not either. Who would be? Even though we tried using a limited paywall here at CleanTechnica, it never felt right. Plus, it was tricky to decide what content to keep behind it. In theory, the best and most exclusive articles should be restricted to paying subscribers. However, the media industry is still a harsh, competitive world with razor-thin profit margins. It's a constant uphill battle to stay afloat, and even more challenging to grow. So...
