The European Union has set forth a recent legislation in an attempt to put an end to large areas of tropical forests being destroyed or harmed. However, experts specializing in sustainability have expressed their concerns to New Scientist, stating that the law fails to tackle the underlying problems that lead to deforestation. Furthermore, there is doubt regarding its effectiveness.
