Vietnam has seen a significant increase in its export of vegetables and fruits to Australia, with only fishery products taking the lead. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development confirms that Australia has allowed the importation of four fresh fruit varieties from Vietnam, namely dragon fruit, lychee, mango and longan. Statistics provided by the Ministry indicate that between 2009 to 2022, export earnings to Australia have gone up by an average of 9% per year.

The country has more rigorous regulations than the US and EU in terms of labeling, the safety of food, and the ability to trace products' origin.
