The prices of exported rice are increasing.
According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the export prices of rice from Vietnam have increased by 9.2% compared to the previous year and reached $532 per tonne in the first quarter of 2023.
The rise in cost was explained by an upswing in the amount of superior rice variants, including aromatic, sticky, and unique types of rice.
At present, half of the overall export volume consists of top-notch rice, which is being traded at a price range of $600 to $1,000 per metric ton.
Specialists have projected that the rice industry will continue to prosper, and prices will remain satisfactory for the near future thanks to the growing popularity of premium rice varieties and a rise in demand for food storage due to worldwide economic and political uncertainty.
Between the months of January and March, Vietnam made a profit of $952 million through exporting 1.79 million tonnes of rice.
