India Taps Geothermal Energy | World Environment Day 2023

Geothermal energy

India aims to increase its renewable energy capacity to meet energy security and reduce emissions. While wind and solar will make up most of this expansion, India believes that there is potential for 10 GW of geothermal capacity. The Geological Survey of India has identified over 350 sites with potential to generate geothermal power, with Ladakh being the most promising location. Despite current investment challenges, successful drilling in Ladakh could establish the capacity and economic viability of geothermal energy in India. Geothermal energy offers a continuous source of energy and is classified as a low-carbon renewable, with a smaller land-use footprint than coal.

Many people are utilizing ad blockers and privacy extensions to combat these intrusive ads. It's up to advertisers to find new ways of promoting their products and services without sacrificing consumer privacy and satisfaction.
