PM Assures Help On Energy Prices At Hotel Launch

Prime Minister Robert Abela opened a new hotel with 106 rooms in St Julians. He said that the government will help the economy by reducing the impact of energy prices.

He said he was happy about the €25 million investment and would still give incentives to encourage private investment.

Abela stated that the government will keep on tackling the issue of seasonality in tourism. He also pointed out that there were a lot of visitors in the first quarter this year, more than in 2019 before the pandemic.

Abela said that Malta needs sustainable growth. It should attract high-quality tourists. Also, the country must become more beautiful and cleaner.

The AC Hotel by Marriott is in Paceville and managed by the Baystreet Group. It's a part of an international chain. Inside, there are indoor and outdoor pools.

Abela brought his wife Lydia Abela along, and Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo joined in too. Lydia Abela helped cut the ribbon.

The Baystreet Group's CEO, Albert Galea, spoke about feeling proud. He talked about the hotel chain which can be found in 31 countries, and its presence in Malta.
