Tesla intends to establish a series of electric-vehicle charging stations in Malaysia as a component of its growth strategy within the region of Southeast Asia.

According to a statement issued by both Tesla and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority on Thursday, Tesla plans to make a significant investment in establishing a comprehensive network of quick-charging and standard-charging stations in Malaysia. This move aims to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in the country.

Tesla, the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer from the United States, announced that it will make its Model 3 and Model Y cars available in Malaysia. They also revealed their intentions to introduce additional models at a later stage. In March, the Malaysian government granted permission for Tesla to import their EVs into the country.

Tesla is planning to establish a main office and maintenance center in the southern region of Kuala Lumpur, the capital city.
