The Perodua Aruz garnered a lot of attention from its fans and supporters when it was first launched locally in 2019. Based on its release date, it's about time for the seven-seater SUV to receive a more extensive model update, which is different from the minor improvements it got in 2021, such as side steps and auto door lock.

If we take a look at the 2023 Daihatsu Terios after its facelift, we might get some useful clues about the changes that could be included in the upcoming facelift of the Perodua Aruz. The reason is that the Daihatsu Terios and the Toyota Rush are closely tied to the Perodua Aruz.

In terms of cost, you can grab the 2023 Daihatsu Terios starting from Rp236 million up to Rp303 million, approximately equivalent to RM73,000 to RM94,000. Meanwhile, the latest Perodua Aruz in Malaysia starts from RM72,900 to RM77,900 and has solely two options available.

Nevertheless, the 2023 Daihatsu Terios will not feature any modifications in its powertrain. It will still be equipped with the identical 2NR-VE 1.5-litre four-cylinder dual VVT-i engine that generates 100hp and 133Nm of torque. Additionally, it will be connected to a four-speed automatic gearbox.

When it comes to the outside of the updated Terios, there are noticeable changes to the front. The front now has new LED headlights, bumper, and grille. Although there isn't a lot to get excited about, it's definitely worth taking a peek by checking out the photos, wouldn't you agree?

There have been some improvements made to the interior of the vehicle. These changes include a brand new instrument panel, a charger that operates wirelessly, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree parking camera, and a more luxurious appearance that enhances the overall driving experience.

When it comes to the Perodua Aruz, it might be beneficial for them to adopt a renewed strategy similar to the updated Daihatsu Terios. This could potentially boost sales, which are currently in a dismal state. Despite the brand's other popular models such as the Axia, Alza, and Myvi, the Aruz is lagging far behind, only accounting for 5% of the total volume produced.
