The beer is called Epic OneWater Brew. The beer is made from recycled wastewater.
Epic Cleantec works with Devil's Canyon Brewing Company to make the beer. The wastewater they use is called greywater. It comes from an apartment complex in San Francisco. The complex has 40 floors. The greywater is from the dishes, laundry, shower and sink.
Matthew Cantor tried a four-pack of the beer for The Guardian. He said the taste was nice. He wouldn't be able to guess where it came from.

The CEO of Epic Cleantec talked to Cantor. He said they picked a beer everyone would like. They didn't want a craft beer like an IPA that some people dislike. They chose a kölsch-style beer instead.
The CEO understands people were unsure about the drink at first. But, he explained that almost everyone who tried it got really excited.
They tested the water at Epic in both their lab and an external one to double-check its safety. This gave them control over the water they used for brewing. They adjusted some of the temperatures, giving the brewers more creative freedom. Tartakovsky shared this information.
