White & Case Partner Joins Freshfields In Singapore M&A

Jon Bowden, a M&A lawyer, has been hired by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Bowden will be a partner based in Singapore. He previously worked at White & Case, a U.S. law firm.

Bowden has 18 years of experience. He advises financial sponsors like private equity firms, corporates, and financial institutions. He also advises in sectors such as financial, oil and gas, consumer goods, and technology, media and telecommunications. His expertise is in cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and corporate finance.

He gave advice to Bangkok Bank in Thailand. They wanted to buy 89% of PT Bank Permata in Indonesia. The cost was a huge $2.3 billion. The bank was owned by Standard Chartered Bank and PT Astra International.

Bowden started at White & Case in 2015. Before that, he was at Linklaters for over 10 years. Freshfields has hired him now, making a total of 10 partners in their Singapore office.
