New Airline Lounges And Inflight Perks Make Air Travel Surprisingly Better This Summer

Air travel

Sint Maarten, a part of the Netherlands Antilles, witnessed an intense moment on September 15, 2016. The arrival of an Air France Airbus A340-300, identified by the registration F-GLZP, at Sint Maarten Airport (SXM) caught everyone's attention. This airport is notorious for its reputation as one of the most perilous airports across the globe. Air France, the flagship airline of France, has its main offices situated in Paris.

Despite the challenges posed by disruptions in weather and frequent delays, the discourse surrounding air travel this summer isn't completely bleak. Several airlines are taking steps to enhance their services, making investments in new planes, lounges, and amenities. This is a refreshing shift after the turbulent period the industry has gone through due to the pandemic.

If you are going on a trip because you won a free vacation (have you entered these free travel contests?) or to check out a new hotel or resort in a place you have never been to before, it is worth considering these airline offerings. Fortunately, airlines are introducing new offerings and advantages that can enhance the travel journey.

The United First seats are now adorned with vegan leather and provide three different charging methods: a wireless charger located in the armrest, a standard AC household-style outlet, and a USB-C port. Additionally, these seats come with bigger tray tables and 13-inch, high-definition screens that can connect via Bluetooth. Given the importance of keeping devices charged, the abundance of power outlets is a welcomed feature.

Qantas' New "Find My Credit" Tool

Melbourne, Australia - November 19, 2012: An Airbus A380, operated by Qantas Airways and with registration code VH-OQF, initiates its departure as... [+] QF93 bound for Los Angeles (LAX) from Melbourne International Airport located in Tullamarine, Victoria.

Qantas, unlike other airlines, wants to ensure that customers do not forget about the credits they have accumulated. In response to the many canceled flights caused by the pandemic, Qantas has introduced a helpful tool called "find my credit." With this tool, travelers can easily check if they have any unused cash connected to their frequent flyer account. Even credits that are up to three years old or have been reissued multiple times due to changing restrictions can be viewed. It's important to note that these credits will expire by the end of this year, but they can be used for flights until 2024 as long as reservations are made before the end of 2023. Additionally, Qantas provides the option to request a refund instead of using the credit. Another exciting development from Qantas is the return of flights to New York JFK. However, this time the flights will be routed through Auckland instead of Los Angeles.
