KUALA LUMPUR, September 7th (Reuters) - Malaysia's main financial institution maintained its standard interest rate as expected on Thursday, as indications of a decelerating economy and decreasing inflation became apparent.
Most economists surveyed by Reuters had predicted that Bank Negara Malaysia would maintain its overnight policy rate at 3.00%. This decision aligns with the stance taken by the majority of other Asian central banks. (Reported by Rozanna Latiff; Edited by Kim Coghill)
