Dubbed as EH, the project represents the result of the partnership between the technology behemoth and Chery. The image shared on Weibo by ChengdongYu, the CEO of Huawei Smart Car Business Unit, showcases a stylish and simple sedan, which he refers to as "a completely sleek vehicle." Initially, it was believed that the model would be included in the AITO lineup, but it has now found its place under the Luxeed brand.
Luxeed is also the moniker of the sedan coupe. This could indicate that the design took inspiration from both the Lucid Air electric sedan and the prestigious Exceed brand from Chery.
Chery is the firm responsible for creating the E0X framework that serves as the foundation for the mentioned model. This particular structure will also be utilized for the future Exeed Sterra ES and Exceed Sterra ET models.
The brand new Luxeed model showcases distinctive front lights, a long bonnet that slopes down towards the front bumper, separated from it by a slim LED strip that links the slender headlights. Underneath the lights, you'll find air vents, and on the roof, there's a dedicated space housing a LiDAR sensor.
The Huawei ADS 2.0 additionally combines 11 high-definition cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, enabling the vehicle to autonomously travel a distance of 124 miles (200 kilometers) without any human involvement.
Additionally, it features the Navigation Cruise Assist (NCA) function, enabling autonomous driving in urban areas and on highways. Initially, this feature will be available in 45 cities in China, and Huawei has intentions to expand its reach further.
The HarmonyOS 4 operating system is present as well, and it works well with Huawei smartphones, notebooks, wearables, and other devices. It facilitates gaming experiences with the aid of a robust Qualcomm 8295 chip. By linking a quadcopter drone to the vehicle, you can effortlessly watch the live footage it captures on the car's built-in screen.
On the periphery, you can observe the expansive wheel arches, collapsible door handles, and Brembo braking system.
The vehicle operates on a double-engine system and has an all-wheel drive configuration. Its battery pack, obtained from CATL, grants it a driving range of 435 miles (700 kilometers). Additionally, the car comes equipped with air suspension.
Car News China reports that the release of the Huawei-Chery vehicle is anticipated to occur in the third quarter of 2023. Its price is expected to begin at 200,000 Chinese yuan ($27,834), and there are hints that it may be unveiled worldwide at the Chengdu Auto Show, commencing on August 25. The Huawei-Chery car aims to compete with the Nio ET7, BYD Han, and of course, the Tesla Model 3, in the Chinese automotive market.
