However, Toyota believes that in city driving, the Yaris Cross will rely on fossil fuel for only a minority of the time.

The appearance of this vehicle can be best described with two words: strong and simple. The former indicates its design similarities with other Toyota SUVs, such as its boxy wheel arches resembling the RAV4. On the other hand, the latter word reflects the compact size of the Yaris Cross model, measuring 4,180mm in length, 1,765mm in width, and 1,560mm in height. For comparison, it is slightly shorter than a Ford Puma by 6mm, but 45mm longer than a Nissan Juke.
Fortunately, this goes beyond just a Yaris compact car with an SUV transformation. The distance between the wheels is extended by 240mm, the distance from the ground is raised by 30mm, and it's also 90mm taller and 20mm wider. Additionally, there are some distinctive design elements of the Yaris Cross, such as the exterior being molded to create a diamond shape when observed from above. Furthermore, larger wheels are available, with sizes going up to 18 inches.
In the interior, the Yaris Cross clearly takes after its supermini parentage - even the door panels are identical. However, there are also distinct differences. The steering wheel, instrumentation, and larger central touchscreen are exclusive to the Yaris Cross, as is the conveniently added storage bin in the center console. In fact, the interior of the Yaris Cross is better organized than the C-HR. Despite being 200mm longer, the C-HR offers less rear seat space compared to its more affordable sibling displayed in the showroom. Additionally, the Yaris Cross boasts a more practical-sized boot, equipped with features such as an adjustable-height cargo floor, underfloor storage, and Toyota's Belt Flex system for securing smaller items.

As for emissions, the front-wheel-drive models are expected to have a CO2 figure below 120g/km, while the all-wheel-drive versions will be below 135g/km.
