Aeroflot

In October, Aeroflot, the main airline of Russia, will add more flights to Seychelles. This will ensure that Russia remains one of the top three countries whose tourists visit the island destination.

Starting from October 16th, Aeroflot is set to boost its flight frequency from two to three times per week, allowing travelers to fly directly from Moscow to the breathtaking archipelago of Seychelles situated in the western Indian Ocean.

There will be an extra flight available on Mondays, which will go alongside the existing flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Aeroflot, the airline, offers direct flights that take approximately 12 hours between Seychelles and Russia.

According to Sherin Francis, the chief tourism secretary, it is believed that by improving connectivity, there is a great possibility of enhancing the market performance. This is because Russia has a crucial role in the success of the business.

"Furthermore, Russia has showcased the possibility of generating higher revenue from tourism, not only benefiting our tourism industry but also enhancing market growth. We expect that a higher frequency of visits will be essential in accomplishing these goals," stated Francis.

At present, Russia ranks as the third largest source of tourists visiting Seychelles, following Germany and France.

Between the first day of January and the twentieth of August in the current year, Seychelles welcomed a grand total of 25,546 guests hailing from Russia. This noteworthy figure indicates a notable surge of 39 percent when compared to the corresponding timeframe of the previous year.

Aeroflot recommenced their regular nonstop flights to Seychelles in October 2022.
