Based on the latest record from the Ministry of Commerce, Thailand has managed to ship out rice that totals to 25,404.15 million Baht (equivalent to USD 753.9 million) within the first two months of this year. This indicates an impressive growth of 38.2% compared to the equivalent timeframe in 2022, which only amassed 18,376.8 million Baht in exports.

According to Anucha Burapachaisri, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister and Acting Government Spokesperson, Thailand has maintained its position as the second biggest rice exporter worldwide. In the first two months of 2023, Thailand exported over 1.4 million tons of rice, a substantial growth of 38.2% compared to the same period in the previous year.

The Ministry of Commerce's latest findings show that Thailand's rice exports have spiked considerably during the first two months of this year. The value of the exported rice amounts to 25,404.15 million Baht, which is equivalent to USD 753.9 million. Comparing it to the same period in 2022, the increase is significant - a staggering 38.2%.

Thailand is still the second biggest rice exporter in the world, trailing only behind India. Some of the major markets for Thai rice are the United States, Indonesia, Iraq, Bangladesh, and Senegal, to name a few.

According to the Thai Rice Exporters Association, there will be a surge in demand for Thai rice in the global market, resulting in an estimated export volume of 700,000 to 730,000 tons in March 2023. White rice and parboiled rice are the most popular types of Thai rice that are exported.

The spokesperson for the government has stated that they are fully devoted to increasing the export of Thai rice. This will be done by displaying Thai rice at various international food events and looking for new trading chances, while also keeping current markets in sync. Their efforts do not stop there, as they are also focused on endorsing other agricultural products and innovations. (TNA)
