Hyundai's Korean plants have recently embraced a new and significant change that is indeed worth mentioning. Historically, the automotive company had strict policies in place that restricted women from working as technicians in their factories. However, an incredible alteration has unfolded, for the first time allowing women to fill these technical roles.

Were you aware that Hyundai's South Korean factories have never employed any female technicians? However, due to mounting pressure from both the union and activists to address this gender disparity, Hyundai has finally taken a step forward by hiring its first group of female technicians. Nevertheless, it should be noted that currently, only six women have been hired in this role.

Hyundai has recently hired approximately 200 fresh mechanics in South Korea, but only six of them are females. Nonetheless, it is noteworthy that the automobile behemoth, ranking third globally in terms of production, has finally allowed women to apply for these positions.

An article in Autonews brings attention to the fact that subcontractors in South Korea exclusively hired women as technicians. These women were brought on as temporary staff members. The reports also mention that Hyundai is currently in the works of allowing approximately 500 technicians to join their team in their home country, indicating that a larger number of women may eventually become part of their permanent workforce.

Car manufacturers all around the globe are actively striving to achieve and promote equality between genders in a variety of positions. In India, numerous companies have even implemented assembly lines and production lines solely staffed by women.
