Proton is now celebrating its 40th anniversary. The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, thanked everyone who contributed to Proton's journey. This includes Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who established the company.

Anwar said thanks to people who helped Proton, including Tan Sri Yahaya Ahmad. Yahaya founded, chaired and directed DRB-HICOM. Yahaya has passed away.

Proton has faced tough times but Malaysia's modernization has helped its survival. New management and commitment could. raise Proton's position in Malaysia and ASEAN. There's great potential in Proton-Geely.

We should remember Proton's 40-year journey. The unity government thanks Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for his role in this.

Anwar recollected his friend, Tan Sri Yahaya Ahmad's dedication towards making Proton a triumph during Proton's 40th anniversary commemoration and unveiling of the new Proton X90.

Without its staff and workers, Proton wouldn't be where it is today. The CEO thanked them for their hard work and efforts that led Proton to success.

Anwar thanked and expressed pride towards the person.

Anwar said thanks to Eric Li for helping Proton and the national car grow.

I talked to chairman Li and found out something important. He said for Proton-Geely to do well, we need to train more and focus on areas we don't know much about. The training has to be high quality.

He said he's grateful to the person who told him Geely will support a big training program for Malaysians in Proton. This will help them improve their abilities for their jobs.

Anwar promised Geely that the expansion plans were discussed with the Perak government. This was done to avoid any problems during the project.

He spoke with the Perak Menteri Besar about making it easier to do business. They want Geely and Proton to succeed in Tanjong Malim. It will become a big place for the automotive industry. They will help make this happen.

Anwar said the government acknowledged Proton's major impact on the nation's economy. The automotive ecosystem is a big part of it.

ESG is important for the future. It includes environmental, social, and governance factors. These factors make an ecosystem that meets the requirements of the future.

Chairman Li talked to me about a new plan. It's urgent but doesn't have to be about EVs yet. The setup isn't good right now. The plan is to have the ability for both electric and fuel cars.

The transition will be easier. We should be practical about making changes. Management needs to be ready to get to work right away. It’s important because lots of people will be affected. 100,000 jobs and 500,000 families will be impacted.

DRB-Hicom Bhd and Geely signed a heads of agreement (HoA) in April for their collaboration.

DRB-Hicom said that the HoA wants to create the next-gen vehicle hub in Tanjong Malim. They call it the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV). It will cover everything from cars to mobility solutions.

The HoA will work on making a new automotive city. It'll be a hub for new energy vehicles.

The AHTV will be big, about 404.69 hectares. It can get bigger later. This is so it can meet future needs.
