The Headlightmag report states that the pricing details for the BYD Dolphin in Thailand will be officially disclosed on July 6. After that, customers can expect deliveries to commence starting from July 17. This electric vehicle made its debut at the Bangkok International Motor Show and will come in two different versions.

The basic choice available is the Standard Range version which includes a front electric motor that has a power output of 95 PS (94 hp or 70 kW) and a torque of 180 Nm. This allows for an acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.3 seconds. This particular option is equipped with the company's own developed Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which has a capacity of 44.92 kWh. According to the NEDC standard, it offers a range of up to 410 km.

In terms of powering up, the Standard Range can handle a maximum AC input of 7 kW and DC input of 60 kW. It also has the capability to use vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology to provide power to external devices or accessories. As per the report, the Standard Range models will come in single-colored options.

In the meantime, the top-tier option is the Extended Range, which features vibrant color combinations and a larger battery with a capacity of 60.48 kWh. This allows for a greater range of 490 km and a more powerful electric motor that produces 204 PS (201 hp or 150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque. As a result, the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is reduced to seven seconds. The higher-capacity battery can handle the same AC input as the lower-capacity one, but the DC fast charging is increased to 80 kW. Additionally, V2L support is included as a standard feature.

When it comes to the gear, the Dolphin will offer adaptable LED headlights, warmed side mirrors, wheels made of alloy measuring either 16 or 17 inches, a five-inch digital dashboard display, artificial leather seating, a sizable 12.8-inch touchscreen entertainment system, compatibility with Apple CarPlay, entry and ignition without a key, automated air conditioning, a glass roof that spans across the top of the car, and a charger for your phone that works wirelessly.

The safety and driver assistance features consist of the standard set of inactive systems like automatic emergency braking, traction control, and electronic stability control. Additionally, it includes adaptive cruise control, independent emergency braking, monitoring for blind spots, awareness of traffic approaching from the rear, and warning and prevention of lane departure.

The Dolphin made its debut in Malaysia in December last year for a formal sneak peek, and it is anticipated to hit the Malaysian market by the fourth quarter of 2023. This upcoming vehicle holds a lower price tag compared to the Atto 3 in China. It was initially projected to be sold for 799,999 baht (approximately RM105k) in Thailand, whereas the starting price for the Atto 3 is 1.0999 million baht (around RM144k) in the same region.

The Dolphin, which was widely discussed as a reasonably priced option for the Malaysian market, was initially offered at the price of RM100k. This would position it in a similar price range as the Neta V, the current lowest-priced electric vehicle in Malaysia priced at RM99,800.
