On Thursday, Elon Musk announced on Twitter that there's a new CEO for the platform.

Mr Musk announced that a woman executive will be taking over the social network in about six weeks. Her name has not been disclosed.

The billionaire said in a tweet that he would now be the exec chair & CTO. He will supervise product, software & sysops.

The new boss will take charge of X, the forthcoming owner of Mr Musk's businesses. He's planning to transform Twitter into an all-in-one app with many features apart from social media.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Linda Yaccarino might become the new CEO of Twitter. She is the head of advertising at NBCUniversal. Two unnamed sources say that talks are happening.

Ms Yaccarino has worked with NBCU for over 10 years. She helped to launch the Peacock streaming channel.

NBCU was contacted by The Independent for comment.

Twitter has a new employee. This is part of the changes at Twitter. The company has had a rough time lately. Mr Musk bought Twitter for $44bn. The purchase was after a legal battle.

He let go of many Twitter employees. He spoke honestly about the challenges facing the company. He said they were losing up to $4m per day in late 2022.

Mr. Musk said to the BBC that Twitter gives him a lot of pain. It's not fun. It's serious.

The network's content moderators were cut, and people are concerned that hateful content will thrive on Mr. Musk's platform.

Twitter has brought back accounts that were banned or suspended by Mr. Musk. These accounts include transphobic tweeters, as well as Donald Trump and Kanye West. Trump and West had been removed from the platform for inciting violence and posting antisemitic messages.

The social network is getting new features and content. There are also changes at the top.

On Wednesday, Twitter introduced a new encrypted direct messaging system. Security experts did not like it and found it to be full of flaws.

Matthew Green, a computer science professor at Johns Hopkins University, wrote on Twitter that he's trying to stay optimistic about Twitter's encrypted DMs. But, he also thinks that there are many things that make it feel like an incomplete version and some features are annoying.

Last week, Tucker Carlson, a former Fox News anchor, shared that he's taking his show to Twitter. He left Fox due to the Dominion defamation trial.
