Anwar mentioned that the conversation is set to happen at a later time today (Friday, July 14) and will occur digitally. This statement was made by the Prime Minister in response to reporters' questions following a discussion with authorities yesterday. Multiple news outlets have reported on this.

Earlier this week, the minister in charge of investment, trade and industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, stated that the possible partnership between Malaysia and Tesla will explore aspects that go beyond the electric vehicle industry.

"We are not only referring to the EV industry when discussing this possible partnership. Our aim is to draw attention and secure investments not only in the automotive sector but also in other sectors that we can promote in Malaysia," he expressed.

In March of this year, Tengku Zafrul made an announcement stating that the electric vehicle manufacturer became the initial authorized participant in the BEV Global Leaders program. This achievement grants them the privilege of selling cars in Malaysia without adhering to the typical AP regulations.

Tesla is about to make its grand entrance in Malaysia next week, specifically on July 20. Prior to its much-awaited arrival, the Tesla configurator for Malaysia has been put into action, unveiling the cost of the Tesla Model Y.
